The Post Wedding Rundown

I’m officially Melyssa Ann Gunn. So exciting!!! A quick recap of the week.
My Maid of Honor came to town to help me with the last minute stuff that creeps up on every bride. We raided Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, and wal-mart for random last minute items. I think we took every bit of glass that Hobby Lobby had that would work for my centerpieces.

Friday May 13, 2012: My car was backed into by a moron in his H2. Not kidding, We were about a 1/2 car length behind the guy when he decided he no longer wanted to wait for the light, he put it in reverse and drove over the hood of my car – hey thanks man!!!! At this point in time I said forget it, if something for the wedding is not done… Too bad. My car was towed to the collision center and We got went home loaded everything into my MOH's truck and went to the Grande Hotel in McKinney. Which would now become Grande Central Station for all bridal activities!
We had our Rehearsal Dinner at Rick’s chophouse in the 110 room. The food – Amazing, the conversation- even better, the looks being shot around the room – priceless. After dinner we went back to the room for the “bachelorette party” which started with me and Qui running to Plano to pick up something at midnight and ended with my friend, Storm Trooper, saving the night with a bottle of vodka and some orange juice.

Saturday May 14, 2012: My Maids (Yes I had 2) of Honor and I wake up and order room service as my hair and makeup girls start arriving along with the other Bridesmaids. my soon to be husband and Qui run to the house to get the bouquets and flowers only to find out they have died! Qui saves the wedding by disassembling the bouquet of another bridesmaid (who was ceremoniously punted from the party) and reassembling everyone else’s bouquets with the least dead flowers from the entire order. We get hair and makeup completed with 15 minutes to spare with us to get to the church. At the church it was just as crazy, We shove me in my dress, slap a veil on me and everyone lines up looking like a million bucks.
The music starts and the girls start processing and I start panicking. Dad kept me calm and away we went. It was when I saw Noble standing up there smiling that I was able to calm down and realize it was all going to be ok. Everything was perfect, the ceremony was beautiful, the girls looked amazing and the men looked dapper. No one even noticed that Noble put my ring on the wrong finger… until we both lost it at the altar. It was wonderful and all that a girl could imagine. I heard from multiple guests that it looked like something out of a movie.  We take our formal pictures and head to the reception (an hour behind)
The reception could have been better. The coordinator left early and the timeline of the event went to hell in a hand basket but that’s for another time.
